The brand founded in 1920 by T.G. John knew a rapid notoriety thanks to the performance and solidity of his cars, even if there was no lack of partly negative experiences such as the production of too complex front-wheel drive. The Alvis renewed its success with a series of very successful 6-cylinder cars, of which the Speed models with low chassis and 3 carburetors could rival the Bentleys, in elegance but also in speed. Very classic lines and great build quality also characterized the production after World War II. The Alvis was absorbed by Rover in 1967. The Speed 20SA model is a classic of the Alvis production of the thirties, and was marketed in different configurations: sedan, convertible, tourer.
