In the mid-fifties, Bertone prepared a whole series of berlinettas called BAT, acronym for Berlinetta Aero Tecnica, which used the mechanics of the Alfa Romeo 1900. The goal was to obtain the best possible aerodynamic performance, for an ideal seal. of the road with maximum performance. Designed by Franco Scaglione, the first coupé of the series was called BAT5 and was presented at the Turin Motor Show in 1953.
