At the 1953 Paris Motor Show, Ferrari presented the new GT, called 250 Europa, which replaced the 212 Inter and which was mainly intended for the European markets, as the name also clearly indicated. The design of the bodywork was entrusted to Vignale, who in previous years had proposed excellent ideas on the 212 chassis. Unfortunately this time the design disappointed and Ferrari decided to turn to Pinin Farina for the larger production. The 250 Europa was the progenitor of a long series of Ferrari GTs called 250. The car was equipped with a 3000cc V12 and 200 horsepower. Pinin Farina also created a beautiful one-off cabriolet, presented at the New York saloon in 1954.
