When the Lotus 25 made its appearance in Formula 1 in 1962, the effect was that of a revolution. For its many technical innovations, including the monocoque aluminum frame, the 25 changed the motoring history forever. The car was designed around Jim Clark, and the Scottish champion made his debut with the car at the 1962 Dutch GP. In 1963 Clark won the drivers' championship while Lotus clinched their first manufacturer title. The last victory in F.1 of the Lotus 25 was the one at the French GP of 1965; later the car was replaced by the 33. The 25 had a prestigious career: 25 wins, 13 fastest laps and 17 pole positions.
