The third series of the Phantom went into production in 1935, replacing the model that had been presented in 1929. Compared to the second series, the Phantom III adopted a new engine: it went from a 7668cc in-line 6-cylinder to a 7340cc V12. The Phantom III was produced in a whole series of configurations: sedan, sedanca de ville, coupé, cabriolet and so on. Production stopped with the outbreak of the Second World War. In 1950, Rolls Royce took back the Phantom name with the IV series with an 8-cylinder engine.
