Introduced in 1964, the R16 was a successful 4-door front-wheel drive sedan, which was appreciated for its rational construction and ample interior space. The most common engines were the 1470cc and 1565cc, both 4 cylinders. The R16 was produced in large numbers until 1979. Between the end of the sixties and the first half of the seventies, more brilliant versions were also offered, such as the TS (1565cc engine enhanced) or the TX with the 1647cc 4 cylinder.
