The famous Ponton series from Mercedes came with models with 4 and 6 cylinder engines. The 6-cylinder line began in 1954 with the presentation of the 220 A sedan, whose evolution, in 1956, was the 220S, with power increased from 85 to 100hp and then to 106 in 1957. In 1958 the 220SE model was presented, available in sedan, coupé and convertible versions.
