The third generation of the Honda Civic had lived no more than four years; in October 1987 the fourth generation came out, with smoother lines, renewed interiors, refined suspension and a series of new engines and new equipment: 1.3 DX (75 horsepower, suppressed in July 1988), 1.4 GL / GL- EX (90 horsepower). Except for the sports versions, which deserve a separate feature, this latter version is the most sought-after by collectors today. The IV series Civic was discontinued in 1991.
