IST-MODELS - DACIA - SUPERNOVA CLIMA 1999

After a decade of trying to survive, at the end of the nineties the Dacia still existed but had an outdated range and very few resources. Salvation came in 1999, with the buy-back by Renault. This was the start of an undoubtedly better period. The first step in the new collaboration between Dacia and Ranault was the modernization of the existing range. The Nova, launched in 1995, was still in production, along with the obsolete 1310. The Nova was chosen as the basis for a more modern model, called the Supernova. With the 1390cc and 75hp engine derived from the Renault 19, the Supernova was more performing than the Nova 1600cc. The Supernova was launched in October 2000 and immediately proved to be a sales success in Eastern Europe, with over 25,000 units produced.
