Harry C. Stutz entered a car of his design in the first edition of the Indianapolis 500, obtaining 11th place. Then put into production, the Bearcat model Stutz became the archetype of American sports cars, with its 4 and 6 cylinder engines. A first production ended in the late 10. Bearcat returned in 1931 with the DV-32 chassis and 4-valve per cylinder engine, but the economic crisis of those years prevented a proper marketing.
