In the city of Auburn (Indiana, USA), the Ekhart brothers had started building cars starting from 1903, first with a single-cylinder engine, then, from 1913, with 6 cylinders. Sales remained rather modest also due to the lack of originality of the cars. It was E.L. Cord to make it a commercial success, giving them a very personal aesthetic and sportier characteristics, adopting Lycoming engines with 8 and then 12 cylinders, all sold at a competitive price. The brand went on until the mid 30's.
