Opel also marketed a coupe version of the Rekord D, which could be equipped with different 4-cylinder engines: 1698cc, 1897cc and 1979cc. The sportiest version was the 2000S, with the 1979cc engine, which gave a power of 100 horsepower at 5200 rpm; quite brilliant was also the 1900SH, with the 97 horsepower 1.9 engine. Production of the Rekord Coupé ceased in 1978.
