Marketed since the fall of 1997, the 156 had a long career during which it benefited from two renovations, in March 2002 and July 2003. If smaller engines such as the 1.6 Twin Spark were perhaps underpowered, the best versions, apart from those with the V6 which are to be considered separately, they were the 1800 and 2000 TS. The elegant SW configuration, called Sportwagon, also enjoyed some success. The Alfa Romeo 156 remained in production until 2006.
