Audi's first foray since the 50 (1974) into a "low" segment, the A1, in production since 2010, was the Ingolstadt-based manufacturer's answer to the BMW Mini. But unlike the Mini, the A1 also quickly received a 5-door body, which met the interest of the public. In 2012 a limited series, called Quattro, was marketed, with a 2000cc engine of 256 horsepower. It was followed, in 2014, by the S1 with 231 horsepower.
