The second series of the Fleetwood, which went into production in 1993, switched from front to rear wheel drive. With a length of 5,720 mm, the Fleetwood, designed by Chuck Jordan, was the longest car produced in the United States until 1996, when it was taken off the market. All Fleetwoods had ABS, traction control and front airbags as standard. The Brougham configuration included the vinyl roof and specific seats, which could memorize six positions and were heated. There were two engines available, both 5.7-liter V8s derived from Chevrolet: the first was the L05, while the second, available since 1994, was the LT1, which was derived from a unit mounted on the Corvette. The car went out of production in 1996, after around 90,000 units were built.
