A separate brand in the Chrysler group since 1954, Imperial stood out for the production of high-end cars, with sober and refined finishes, which took on an even more pronounced personality in 1955, placing itself in direct competition with Lincoln and Cadillac. Outfitted by the Turin Ghia, the 8-seater Crown Limousines boasted a brilliant multilayer paint job, air conditioning and electro-hydraulically opening windows. The engine was the powerful 6420 and 6764cc four-body carburettor V8. In the years of production (1957-1961) the aesthetics changed, but never the substance.
