The third and fourth generation of the new Super Snipe were produced from 1960 to 1964 (1960-1962 and 1962-1964). Equipped with luxurious finishes, the Super Snipe had a 2965cc in-line 6-cylinder engine that could guarantee high cruising speeds while not being sporty. The roadholding and behavior, however, left something to be desired. The mk.IV, in production since 1962, received an additional dose of horsepower and some aesthetic and finishing improvements.
