The Silver Dawn, in production from 1949 to 1956, used a Bentley body and was designed for easier maintenance than other Rolls. The Silver Dawn was initially produced with a 4257cc 6-cylinder engine (1949-1951), which was increased to 4566cc with the second series. The Silver Dawn was contemporary to the Phantom IV, a decidedly more demanding car and chosen mostly by heads of state or royalty. Both models were replaced by the Silver Cloud which remained in production until 1966.
