The launch of the Aston Martin DB2 / 4 MkII at the 1955 London Motor Show coincided with some changes in the organization of production. David Brown had bought Tickford Ltd body shop in Newport Pagnell in 1953 and the MkII was then manufactured in the Tickford workshops rather than by Mulliners. Mechanics were updated with a more powerful 140 horsepower engine, but a 165 horsepower option was also available. Production of the MkII stopped in October 1957 after 137 coupes, 34 hard top coupes, 24 convertibles and 4 rolling chassis.
