At the 1983 Frankfurt Motor Show, Fiat presented the Regata, a three-volume sedan that derived directly from the Ritmo. The Regatta was a great success and was produced with different petrol and diesel engines (aspirated and turbo) and also in a familiar configuration, called the "Weekend". The Regatta was subsequently subjected to a slight restyling, going out of production in 1990.
