With twelve wins in the Paris-Dakar, the Mitsubishi Pajero boasts a unique palmares. The Pajero was entered for the first time in the Dakar in 1983, thanks to the initiative of a small team led by Bernard Maingret. From 1985 Mitsubishi Motors developed an official version expressly for the raids and in 1985 the Pajero obtained its first victory with Patrick Zaniroli. From that moment it was a continuous series of technical updates, bodywork, engines and victories.
