A superb convertible based on the Aston Martin DB4 was presented at the 1961 Paris Motor Show. The already elegant lines of the coupe further gained in purity on the convertible version. The DB4 Convertible followed the evolution of the standard DB4, and the first series of the convertible corresponds to the fourth series of the coupe. When the fifth series DB4 appeared in 1962, the Convertible followed the changes. In total, 79 examples of the Convertible were produced, including 45 from the second series. Thirty-two cars were equipped with the Vantage engine, which produced 266 horsepower instead of the 240 of the standard power unit.
