The Gebhardts were probably the most original Group C2 cars of the 1980s. They were produced in Germany by the brothers Guenther and Fritz Gebhardt. The aluminum monocoque chassis was designed by Guenther Gebhardt and Bill Harris, the bodywork was made by Neumann and the cars were assembled and prepared at Silverstone. The 1985 JC853 differed from the 1984 JC843 in a wider use of kevlar and was used successfully by the factory team and other teams. At Le Mans in 1986 the car of the ADA Engineering team won its class.
