The MG type C was introduced in 1967, with the aim of recreating something similar to what had been the Austin Healey. Equipped with a 2912cc 6-cylinder engine, the MGC was aesthetically almost identical to the MGB but was a disappointing car for its on-road behavior not up to par. 4542 cabriolet versions were built up to 1969. At the same time a series of MG coupes were produced, with the same body as the MGB GT.
