The second generation of the Opel Ascona was presented in Frankfurt in 1975. New body shape, with more taut and squared lines. Available in 2 or 4-door configuration, the Ascona B had various engines, including a fairly bright 1900cc (90 horsepower). In 1979 a sports version, the 400, was marketed for homologation in rallies in Group A. The Ascona B was produced until 1981.
