The 6C 2500 Competizione took shape after the war, designed by Gioacchino Colombo. The car took up the setting of the production 6C 2500, as a chassis and as a suspension scheme. The engine was the 2443cc 6-cylinder in-line capable of developing around 145 horsepower. Three examples were built, which were often modified for experimental purposes, above all to identify the best aerodynamic configuration. The 6C 2500 Competizione made its debut at the 1948 Mille Miglia, where it finished third in 1949 (Rol / Richiero) and in 1950 (Fangio / Zanardi). The car won the 1949 Acerbo Cup with Franco Rol, the 1950 Targa Florio-Giro di Sicilia (Bornigia brothers) and the Intereuropa Cup in Monza, again in 1950 with Sanesi.
