The third generation of the Corvette was introduced in 1968 in coupé and spyder configuration. Both options were equipped with two versions of the V8 engine. A unification of the range, with the adoption of a single type of engine and only a closed body, took place in 1974 with the second series, produced until 1977; the third series, produced from 1978 to 1982, concluded the third generation of the Corvette. The car underwent several stylistic evolutions. The car was extensively used in American races.
