At the Detroit Motor Show in January 1998, Aston Martin presented the Vantage project. Drawn by Ian Callum, the line was very different from that of the DB7 and announced a new model that would take back the prestige of the Virage. A little more than three years later, the project materialized at the Geneva Motor Show with the Vanquish. More exclusive than the DB7, it had a specific chassis, but the engine was derived from that of the DB7 Vantage. In October 2004 the Vanquish underwent an evolution with the "S" version, more powerful (520 horsepower) and which was produced until July 2007. A total of 1503 Vanquishes and 1086 Vanquish S' were produced.
