Ferrari has won the 24 Hours of Le Mans nine times: in 1949, 1954, 1958 and for six consecutive years from 1960 to 1965. Many consider the first victory, that of 1949, to be the most beautiful and most symbolic. The 24 Hours was reborn after the war and among the cars at the start were Delahaye, Talbot, Delage, Aston Martin, Simca, Frazer Nash and two Ferrari 166MMs. Less powerful than its competitors, the 166MM proved to be very fast and driven by Luigi Chinetti and Peter Mitchell-Thomson (lors Selsdon) covered almost 3200 kilometers at an average of 132,420 km / h. In reality Chinetti won almost alone, driving 22 hours!
