The 750 Monza was one of the many sports prototypes used by Ferrari in the mid-1950s. One of the main lines derived mechanically from the 625 Formula 1 in 1952: on the one hand the 625 TF and the 625 LM were developed; on the other hand, the family of 700S, 735 Monza and 750 Monza was generated and presented in 1954. From the 750 Monza in turn derived the 857S and 121LM of 1955. Extreme development of this trend was the 860 Monza of 1956.

The Ferrari 750 Monza chassis 0514M was purchased in 1955 by the Roman driver Luigi Piotti who took part in a large number of races that season. Three weeks after racing at the Mugello Road Circuit, Piotti entered the Tunis GP, where he achieved a prestigious victory. The 750 Monza 0514M was subsequently sold to the British Ken Wharton.
