After the Z-102, equipped with a series of different engines, such as the 2.5, 2.8 and 3.2 liter V8s, in 1955 Pegaso presented the Z-103, with newly developed 3.9 and 4.5 liter V8 engines with a single shaft. ahead. The chassis had been specially developed and the handling of the Z-103 on the road was typical of a racing car. Unfortunately the level of finish was rather poor and to this was added the fact that the Pegaso did not have any prestigious pedigree; the brand also failed to build a solid reputation through competitions, and this greatly limited the success of the Spanish cars. The Z-103 was discontinued in 1958.
