After its arrival in the segment of grand touring cars, Iso produced a range of exceptional models: the Rivolta, the Grifo, the Lele, plus the Fidia sedan, all based on the same mechanics. The engine arranged in the front was the clear sign of the American heritage: first with Chevrolet mechanics, then Ford. Before disappearing, however, the Iso brand unveiled the project for a mid-engined berlinetta, designed by Ercole Spada who had worked for a long time in Zagato. The Varedo, equipped with a 5762cc and 325 horsepower V8 engine, was presented at the Turin Motor Show in November 1972, but was never put into production.
