At the London Racing Car Show in January 1967, Lola presented the T70 Mk.IIIB, a coupé version of the spyder model used in the CanAm category. If the version destined for private stables was sold with the Chevrolet engine, the two official cars, brought to the race by the team of John Surtees (chassis SL73 / 101 and SL73 / 102) were equipped with an Aston Martin engine, which was the 5 V8. liters type DP218 which foreshadowed the mechanics of the future DBS V8. However, the race results of the Lola-Aston were never convincing, also due to poor reliability.
