When the Morris Minor was discontinued, her place in 1971 was taken by the larger and more expensive Navy, but which had some suspension parts in common with the Minor. The Navy line was more square and modern. The sedan and coupe configurations were first marketed, followed by the break. The 1.3 (60 horsepower) and 1.8 (83 horsepower) engines were available. A sportier version of the 1.8 was also marketed, called TC, with double carburetors and 85 horsepower. Production ceased in 1978 for the 1.8 and 1.8TC, while the 1.3 remained available until 1980.
