Roadster or coupe, the Mercedes R107, introduced in 1971, was extraordinarily ahead of its time. Initially available in the spyder 350SL version (200 horsepower V8 engine), the offer soon extended to the coupé and many other versions, such as the 450SL (1973), 280SL (1974), 350SL / 280SL (1976) and so on. The new versions continued in the following years (380SL, 300SL, 500SL, etc.) and in 1986 a restyling was introduced that was inspired by the lines of the S-class series W126. The R107 had a very long career, which stopped only in 1989, when it was replaced by the new SL roadster series R129.
