It was Alejandro De Tomaso, owner of Carrozzeria Ghia at the time, who took the initiative of a "Competizione" prototype based on the Lancia Fulvia 1.6 HF. The head of the style center, Tom Tjaarda, designed a coupé that was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1969. The car, which remained a one-off, underwent some transformations over time, among other things receiving a big deal air on the engine hood.
