The E9 series of BMW coupes, introduced in December 1968, was an evolution of the 2000 C / CS coupé on which 6-cylinder engines were mounted. The 3.0 CSi model was introduced in 1971 and was equipped with the 2985 type M20 engine, equipped with Bosch D-Jetronic indirect injection. A carbureted version, the 3.0 CS, was also available, again starting in 1971. The CSi, like the CS, went out of production in 1975.
