With the 100 series C3, Audi wanted to strengthen its position in the large sedan category. Going into production in 1982, the car showed great qualities of comfort, even with engines that were sometimes not particularly brilliant. More lively than the 4-cylinder were the 5-cylinder engines, starting from 136/138 HP. A restyling was presented in 1988, with new handles and a modernized dashboard. Apart from the "normal" versions, much more interesting from a performance point of view were the 100 Turbo and the 100 Quattro Turbo, in production from 1990 to 1991. Together with the 200 version, the Audi 100 C3 went out of production in 1991.
