In 1991 the incredible Ferrari Testarossa modified by Colani and tuned by Lotec made an appearance at Bonneville, with updated bodywork. From a mechanical point of view, the 4.9-litre V12 engine developed 750hp at 6400rpm. At Bonneville the specialist Mike Strasbourg achieved a top speed of 340 km/h: despite a speed record achieved (the one for catalysed cars) the record he wanted to beat was not surpassed by only 3 km/h less than the top speed of category, obtained from the RUF CTR Yellowbird. However, Strasbourg made up for it the following year, scoring a top speed of 351 km/h at the wheel of the same car.
