CULT-SCALE MODELS - ASTON MARTIN - DB6 1964

Announced at the 1965 London Motor Show, the Aston Martin DB6 was part of the logical continuity with the DB5, but the transformations were still significant compared to the previous model. The wheelbase was lengthened, the interior redesigned, assuming a true 2 + 2 configuration. The mechanics did not vary much, however, with the engine always giving 266 horsepower and the choice preserved between the ZF five-speed manual gearbox and the Borg Warner automatic transmission. The Vantage option was always available, with a surplus of power that brought the value to 325 horsepower at 5750 rpm. In August 1969, the second series of the DB6 (Mk.II) was presented, which had enlarged wheelarches to house larger rims.
