The MG TD went into production in 1949 to replace the TC. The car was characterized by non-wire wheels, the standard equipmente coming with disc rims, perforated on later cars. The second series, marketed since 1950, received an enhanced version of the well-known 1250cc engine. The House provided some preparation kits that allowed to reach powers of about 90 horses. The TD went out of production in 1953 to make way for the TF.
