The first model of Ford SAF but designed in Detroit, the Ford Vedette looked like a small Mercury. It was a revolutionary model, at least for the European market, where V8 engines were little known. The F492E model remained in production from 1949 to 1952 in limousine, coupé and convertible configurations; the F492C code corresponds to the Abeille version (commercial, 1952-1953). The F22E (limousine) and the F22C Abeille (commercial) were finally in production from 1953 to 1954.
