In 1980 Ferrari again associated the Mondial name with one of its cars; the Mondials were sports from the 1950s, with bodywork by Scaglietti and Pininfarina. The new car was a sharp-edged coupe that drew much criticism for its lack of grit. The Mondial was equipped with a 3000cc V8 and 214 horsepower. The excessive weight (1585kg) affected its behavior and performance.
