The first Alfa Romeo spider of the Fiat era was presented in 1995 (2.0TS and 3.0 V6, in production until 1998). The car was immediately appreciated for its original and elegant line, even if the chassis lacked rigidity. The engines were also excellent: power in quantity and typically sporty brilliance. Above all, the V6, while the 2000 turbo remained little widespread and little requested. The naturally aspirated versions were equally interesting, both with the engines of the first 12-valve series, and with the 3-liter 24-valve (220 horsepower), up to the 3.2-liter 240-horsepower. Three series were built of the Spider (type 916), the last of which was produced from 2003 to 2005 (2.0 JTS and 3.2 V6 24v).
