The Lada 1500 was the Russian counterpart of the Fiat 124. Unlike the 1200, the 1500 had dual headlights. Built by AutoVaz, the Lada was less refined than the 124, but cheaper and above all modified to withstand the stresses of the Russian climate. The whole car had also been strengthened, with a thicker body, improved electrical system, strengthened brakes, clutch and steering. The engine was a 1452cc 4-cylinder engine that developed around eighty horsepower, just enough for a speed of around 150 km / h.
