With the CLS (C219) based on the E-Class, Mercedes revisited the concept of the low sedan or 4-door coupe in 2004. A concept, called Vision CLS, was unveiled in Frankfurt in 2003, and the definitive car was officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March of the following year. Several versions produced, from 350 to 320 CDI, from 500 to AMG sports cars (first CLS 55, then CLS 63). A rather light restyling was conducted in March 2008, the year in which the 350 CGI version was also introduced. Production ceased in 2010 with the arrival of the second generation of the CLS.
