For the 1953 racing season, in parallel with the outfitting of the Formula 2 A6 GCM, Gioacchino Colombo completed the revision of the 2000 Sport, namely the A6 GCS. The chassis was completely redesigned and the engine of the A6 GCM was revised and weakened to withstand long distances. The displacement was 1985cc for a power of about 170 horsepower. The A6 GCS-53 was a success among many private drivers, who made it their winning car for the Sport 2000 class. The car was built in no less than 52 units and obtained over 70 victories in a few years, conducted in the race by leading drivers such as Mantovani, Musso, De Graffenried, Perdisa, Salvadori, Bellucci, De Portago, Scarlatti, Govoni and De Filippis.
