After a long-lasting collaboration that had seen Zagato set up numerous Alfa Romeos for Scuderia Ferrari in the 1930s, the streets of the Maranello house and the Milan body shop met again in 1949. Antonio Stagnoli, Piaggio dealer in Milan and a discreet amateur driver level turned to Ugo Zagato for the creation of a light and aerodynamic car. Born on the basis of a 166MM, Stagnoli's car participated in some competitions between 1950 and 1950, such as the Circuito di Senigallia, the Intereuropa Cup in Monza, the Mille Miglia, the Aosta-Gran San Bernardo and the Parma- Poggio di Berceto.
