In December 1928, Duesenberg presented the new J model at the New York Motor Show. Aimed at a very select clientele, the J was equipped with a Lycoming 8-cylinder in-line engine that developed a power of 265 horsepower. This is a long wheelbase version, bodied and designed by the Walter M. Murphy Company of Pasadena, which made a hundred Duesenbergs, or more than a fifth of the total production.
