The Škoda 1201 was presented in 1954 as a successor to the Škoda 1200. It inherited its predecessor's steel ponton format body. The car was fitted with a four-cylinder 1221 cc ohv water-cooled engine producing 45 bhp. The 1201 was available as a four-door saloon and as a three- or five-door station wagon. A light panel van and pick-up version were also produced. Production ended in 1961, the new Škoda 1202 replacing the 1201.
